The short version

The Duskie WRAITH is a surface mount kit for a 50A Anderson-style two-pole power connector. The nylon riser base lifts the connector clear of the mounting surface so the cover cannot rub against your paintwork, and a snap-on cover with a dust cap keeps the contacts protected when nothing is plugged in. It suits 6 AWG wire, comes with a 1.5 mm wire rope and aluminium crimp ferrule for a tidy pull cord, and the whole kit weighs 80 g. Figures here are taken from the kit's own component specifications.

Features

  • Paintwork-Protecting Riser Base: Our innovative RISER base lifts the connector away from the mounting surface, actively protecting your vehicle's paintwork from wear and tear associated with frequent use. It also features specially designed voids to securely encapsulate the wire rope and crimp ferrule, preventing movement and enhancing connection stability.
  • Customizable Connection Flexibility: This kit includes a straight wire rope and a loose aluminium crimp ferrule, empowering you to customize the wire length and connection to perfectly suit your specific application and installation needs, ensuring a tailored and secure fit.
  • Premium, Durable Components: Equipped with a high-quality BLACK connector, reliable terminals, and a robust cover, every component in this kit is selected for its superior durability and optimal conductivity, built for long service under 50A loads.
  • Enhanced Protection with Dust Cap: A robust protective dust cap is included to shield your connection from environmental elements like dirt, moisture, and debris, keeping dirt, moisture and debris off the connection when it is not in use.

Problem Solved

The Problem

Standard 50A connections often suffer from inadequate paintwork protection, leading to unsightly damage and corrosion over time. They can also lack the necessary customization options, resulting in suboptimal wire routing and insecure connections, compromising both reliability and longevity.

The Solution

Our Complete 50A Kit directly addresses these issues with its unique RISER base, safeguarding your vehicle's finish while providing secure wire encapsulation. The included customizable wire rope and loose ferrule allow for a perfect, secure fit, ensuring optimal performance and maximum durability for your power system.

Nylon or billet?

Nylon (WRAITH, SORSHA, PAUL) is injection moulded and coloured all the way through, not painted, so a scratch shows the same colour underneath rather than bare plastic. It won't corrode, it's lighter, and it flexes slightly under vibration rather than fatiguing, which matters over years on dirt roads.

Billet aluminium (KAEL, TUTU and the WREN/GOBLIN/GRIMACE/DINGO/CARRIE/ERIC colours) is machined from solid aluminium stock rather than moulded, then anodised. It's heavier and more rigid than the nylon cover, which reads as the premium option. The nylon kit does exactly the same electrical job.

What anodising actually does

Anodising isn't a paint or a coating sitting on top of the aluminium. It's an electrochemical process that thickens and hardens the oxide layer already on the metal's surface, so there's nothing applied on top that can chip or peel away. Colour is dyed into that oxide layer during the process, and the same treatment is what gives the surface its added scratch and wear resistance over bare aluminium.

Where it goes

Duskie

Up on the riser. Off the paint.

The riser base is the whole point of the kit: it lifts the connector clear of the mounting surface so the cover can't rub, drag or wear a ring into your paint every time it's plugged in. Screw it to a canopy wall, a drawer face or a toolbox side, and the dust cap stays tethered on its wire rope right where you need it.

Questions people ask

Is this a genuine Anderson connector?

It is an Anderson-style two-pole 50A connector, the same shape used across the 4x4 and caravan trade. It is not sold as a branded Anderson Power Products part.

Does it sit flush or does it stick out?

It sits on a riser, not flush. The base lifts the connector off the surface on purpose, so the cover cannot drag on your paintwork every time it is used.

What wire does it take?

The terminals suit 6 AWG wire. The kit includes a 1.5 mm wire rope and an aluminium crimp ferrule for the dust cap's pull cord, which you can cut to length.

What is in the kit?

A black nylon cover, a black nylon riser base, two copper terminals, an aluminium crimp ferrule and a dust cap on a straight wire rope.

How much does it weigh?

80 g for the complete kit.

Will it protect the connector from dust and water when nothing is plugged in?

The dust cap covers the contacts when the connector is not in use. It is not rated or tested for submersion.
